Cultivation

Should be planted in rich, well-drained soil in a semi-shaded location, although it tolerates direct sunlight. Requires regular watering.

This plant tolerates cold, can lose its leaves in the winter, returning to burst the following spring. It must be protected from frost.

It is easily multiplied by the division of rooteed stems, by cutting and sowing.

History

Is originally from India.

Its smell is identical to the incense used in the religious ceremonies, giving rise to its name.

Utilization

Due to the outstanding effect of its long and flexible branches is a plant indicated for hanging pots, and can also be used as a cover of the soil.
